Thanks JRob. I know what you mean about only "hairpiece people" looking at people's hair with a critical eye. Ever since I started thinking about wearing a hair system, I've been checking out everyone's hair.

The only hairpieces I can easily spot have ultra thick density and no hairline (like a hair helmet) or a disturbing color mismatch between the top and sides.

Oh yea, I'm sure I mentioned this already but I'm planning on doing a couple of made-to-spec mohawks that will have proper densities, single knot ventilation, bleached knots, etc. around the entire perimeter. It will be interesting, I'm sure.

Dave,

It was a factory mistake. The density in the back is super high. That's why I chopped it up for my Halloween costume :)

It's interesting that you make the reference to the "carpet-like" look because that's exactly how I would describe it, but people I know who don't know that I wear thought I had shaved my head, and people that I met that night SWORE it was real even after I told them otherwise. Even got a compliment from a girl I know who knows that I wear who thinks I should just shave my head. I don't think she has ever given me a compliment on my hair before!

You would be amazed at what can pass for real hair. We look at it with a critical eye because we know what it is, but unless it is blatantly obvious they would never pick it out.

Before I got involved in this the only way I would have ever spotted a hairpiece if had a sign hanging from it saying "TOUPEE". Nowadays I can obviously spot the ones that have critical flaws, but back when I didn't know anything about it I was completely oblivious, as are most people.

LOL. From the front it looks really good. From the side (top right photo) it looks a little too carpet-like, though if it was a full piece I may not have been able to tell that it was fake. Was that density a factory mistake, or did you order it that way?
