If you have thin sides, you will probably be very happy. In my case, getting a full cap was a no brainer.

Mike,

There is definitely a psychological advantage to wearing a full cap. I personally experienced it, and others have confirmed this as well. I will be going into more detail on the subject of the psychology of wearing hair in general and specifically wearing a full cap sometime in the future.

As for the vids, the main objective will be to show everyone that you can live a normal life and that you don't have to constantly worry while wearing hair, but I will be going over some tips, and that will include solving some of the issues that do pop up from time to time.

I don't think it is necessary for most people to leave the unit to let their scalp rest, but I do get some irritation from time to time and leaving the unit detached for a day or two allows it to heal up. It also feels good to go without hair for awhile. I haven't worn all week and I am sitting here now with the air conditioning blowing across my scalp and it feels gooooooood! Especially here in Florida in the summer when the heat and humidity are terrible.

Thanks for the comment!

Ya, JRob. I think realistically you are right and it will be best to start with a partial. But I think there is a psychologically appealing aspect of a full cap. You get to go "all in". No trying to salvage the remnants of a once great head of hair, etc. ;) You almost get to start again from scratch.

So in addition to not having to worry about blending, the full cap definitely seems appealing, and it's good to see guys like you blazing the trail.

Again, I am looking forward to seeing the vids. I hope you can focus not just on how great a full cap can look (we've seen the pics - we know), but also the kinds of things that can go wrong on bad days.

eg. nape issues, tangling, lace showing, the temples issues you talk about, scalp irritations, etc.

I also wonder about duration of wear, and wearing a full cap essentially 24/7. I noticed you once saying you take some nights off. I wonder if this is a necessity of any added discomfort or hassle associated with full caps.

Thanks again.

Thanks Cameron.

That is one of my main goals with the YouTube channel- to upload videos of how the hair behaves in everyday situations. I also want to do some spur of the moment interviews with people on the street. I get quite a few people complimenting me on my mohawk and sometimes I tell them that it isn't real just to see how they react. I think it will be cool to let people see how shocked someone is after they find out that they just complimented you on your hair when it isn't actually "your" hair. People are pretty amazed.

This is gonna be fun!

Hi Nikki,

I am not familiar with the term "wafted". I know that there is a ventilation technique that is sometimes used for full caps called "underventing" where they tie the nape hair to the underside of the base in the nape are to ensure that it lays flatter. I have never had an issue with the hair not laying flat enough in that area with my attachment method so I have never tried it, but I know others who have and they don't recommend it.

One little trick that I do use to help keep the very bottom layer of hair down is to extend the tape just a tiny fraction of an inch beyond the lace. This not only allows the hair to lay naturally, but it also provides a less detectable edge (to touch).

I think adding a "lifestyles" section is a great idea! It'd be good to see how the system fares after a workout, a swim, etc. and how it looks while running or with wind blowing against it (like if you were on a roller coaster or in a convertible).

Best of luck with this project!
